ChangingGear had been a long time coming. The idea for Changing Gear was developed by Patrick Jackson. Originally the store was only going to deal with outdoor gear but has since evolved into sporting goods. About 2 years ago I purchased the business from Patick and added some different inventory plus increased some hockey items. So many people and businesses have been instrumental in getting ChangingGear off the ground for Patrick. Blue Toque Sports Consignment in Courtenay and North Shore Sports Swap in Vancouver have been wonderful, and Patrick couldn’t have done it without them. The Whitehorse community as well as the Yukon in a whole has been a great supporter of this business idea and we are honored to be part of the community.
ChangingGear believes in forming partnerships with other businesses in town – ChangingGear is pleased to be able to work with Skatemasters Mobile, On Top Fly Shop and the Soccer Shoppe. ChangingGear works with the non for profit organizations like WMHA, MWHA, Community Rec centers, Pickel ball association, and countless others, to help provide gear for the youth at a reasonable cost so that more can enjoy the outdoors and sport activities.
